Does Vitamin D Actually Make You Taller

January 19, 2011

A new study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism seems to suggest just that. The study was composed of 90 females ages 16-22 and showed that those with increasing levels of vitamin D were taller than those who had low levels of vitamin D. In the study, approximately 59% of subjects were Vitamin D insufficient (≤29 ng/ml), and 41% were sufficient (≥30 ng/ml). There was a positive correlation between vitamin D levels and height.

These women with high levels of Vitamin D were not only taller, but they also had lower body weight, waist circumference, and a lower body mass index. This study suggests having higher levels of Vitamin D leads to people being both taller and thinner.

Vitamin D has been shown helpful in many bodily functions including immune systems, prevention of rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. In combination with calcium helps to protect older adults from osteoporosis. Vitamin D also modulates neuromuscular function, reduces inflammation, and influences the action of many genes that regulate the proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis of cells.

Peak Height Maximizer contains a specially selected amount of Vitamin D to help maximize users vitamin D levels.
