Increase Height Through Spine Stretches

January 22, 2011

Back exercises have long been used to stretch the spine for low back pain, but can these exercises actually increase spine height through stretching? A new study suggests that stretching exercises can increase spine height and thus lead to overall height increase.

The study used 20 women and 21 men with an average age of 24. Spine height was measured both before and after the exercises. Results showed that using end-range lumbar flexion stretching lead to an average height gain of 4.78 mm and mid-range flexion stretching increased height by an average of 5.84 mm.

It appears stretching exercises not only feel good, but also can lead to height increase!
